DC Rebirth: Year Four (July 2019 – July 2020)

People will tell you DC Comics isn’t publishing “Rebirth” anymore, and I will tell you they are chumps 🙂 Like it or not, this is the Rebirth era of DC, and we enter year four with some major events, a linewide theme, and the return of some iconic DC characters.

Rebirth year three was defined by creative changes across major titles, including Scott Snyder on Justice League, G.Willow Wilson on Wonder Woman, and Brian Michael Bendis on Superman. At launch, year four continues building on those creative directions, including the Bendis-driven events like Event Leviathan and the return of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Likewise, Scott Snyder’s Justice League is kicking off a linewide Year of the Villain throughout all DC comics.

Below you’ll find a guide to the comics of Rebirth Year Four, broken out into sections that I’ve been tracking since Rebirth Year One!

  • This has been an invaluable resource, thank you so much for maintaining it. I'm close to finishing the fourth year of Rebirth so please, please, please, please put up your guide to year five. :)

  • ive been reading through this list but im wondering where does red hood: outlaw vol 4 go because after vol 3 it seems to cut straight to dark nights death metal then future state then infinite frontier.

    • i also noticed flash vol 13 isnt here and i know there is a vol 14 but im not sure when its set as it isnt in infinite frontier with the new flash vol 1 but it isnt here either?

      • Also flash year one which is in the middle between Vol 11 and 12 is missing from the lists. Also is there nothing else after joker war? or does everything lead into dark knights metals after that? I feel like theres a handful missing but im not sure that's why i need a list lol

  • This needs to be updated to current. I'm having trouble placing my newest books. Thanks!

  • Hi, love this site. Is this chronological order going to be completed because the comics are way past DC Rebirth now with the arrival of Infinite Frontier, and this order isnt complete, as stuff like Justice League Vol. 5: The Doom War and the Flash Vol. 13: Rogues Reign are missing. They also seem to be a part of Year of the Villain so I guess they're important.
    Thanks

    • Infinite Frontier is on the website! I'm still going through and writing the updates for this. It should be up soon!

  • How is Batman: Last Knight on Earth in the DC Rebirth continuity? I thought because it was Black Label it wouldn't be.

    • It is Black Label and as such takes place out of continuity. However, it's an influential book from DC as it acts as a sort of epilogue to Snyders New 52 Batman run.

    • It's the start of a new run so you can start from vol. 1 and not really need to read City of Bane. The run continues into Infinite Frontier with vol. 4: The Cowardly Lot Part 1 being available for pre-order now!

      • thanks Zachary ...its so very confusing for someone that started following rebirth after a 3 year break

  • Thanks so much for putting together a timeline and updating it as often as you can.
Is there any way you could add the new age comics to the timeline (Specifically The Terrifics TPB)? I don’t see any volumes of them across any of the years of timelines.
