This week on Creannotators, I talk Championess, one of my favorite comics of 2021, with the graphic novel’s co-writers Kelly Zekas and Tarun Shanker. We talk researching Elizabeth Wilkinson, the female bare knuckle boxer in 18th century London, the importance of intersectional gender, race and class in the narrative, and creating a graphic novel for Legendary Comics’ new YA line of comics.
